Thanks to Madeline Schwartzman for including me in her wonderful Facebook project — 365 Day Subway: Poems by New Yorkers. I first rode the NYC Subway when I lived on the Upper West Side decades ago. Although this was long before I began photographing, the experience had a profound effect on shaping my sensibilities.
