2017 Blue Sky Gallery Pacific Northwest Viewing Drawers

Ten prints from my series Brief Encounters – Impromptu Portraits will be on display in the 2017 Pacific Northwest Photography Viewing Drawers at the Blue Sky Gallery.

It is difficult for me to click the shutter on my camera unless the image contains a person. Although most of my photos involve candid moments of human interaction that I capture without directly engaging my subjects, occasionally I feel compelled to create a portrait of someone I meet during my travels. These brief encounters are generally no more than an initial acknowledgement of one another, a point to my camera, a nod of approval, and one or two quick snaps before we continue along our separate paths. This series includes some of my favorite impromptu portraits.
