I’m delighted that my print In the Shadow of Mary from my award-winning series Holy Week in Guatemala was selected for the 2015 Northwest Fine Arts Competition Exhibition at the Phinney Center Gallery. The show will run from October 1-30 with an opening reception on Friday, October 9, from 7 to 9 pm.

The exhibition features painting, photography and sculpture by regional artists Becky Birinyi, Clint Ceder, Ken Coleman, Connie Fu, Nelda Hanson, Bill Hodge, Susan Lally-Chiu, MiYoung Margolis, James McFarlane, Susan K. Miller, Stan Raucher, Yan Ren, Stacy Rosevear, Miya Sukune, Katie Twiss, Robert Williamson, and Jeff Wilson.

The gallery is located in the Phinney Neighborhood Association, 6332 Phinney Ave N, Seattle, WA 98103. Phone 206 783 2244. The gallery hours are Monday-Friday 9 am to 10 pm and Saturday 9 am to 2 pm.

Blue Sky Gallery Oregon Center for the Photographic Arts is celebrating 40 years of exhibiting contemporary photography with its 40th Anniversary Exhibition: 40/40. I’m delight to have two prints from my series Daybreak on the Ganges in this exhibition, which includes over 300 prints donated by artists who have shown on the gallery walls and in the Pacific Northwest Photography Viewing Drawers. All of the donated prints will be for sale throughout the month of October to benefit Blue Sky.

I’m delighted that my series Holy Week in Guatemala was selected as finalist in the 2015 Critical Mass competition. This project documents the extraordinary traditions of Holy Week that were brought from Spain to Guatemala in the 17th century. These photos were taken in and around Antigua, Guatemala, in March 2015.

Critical Mass is an annual online program which allows finalists to have their work viewed by over 200 renowned photography professionals.

Thanks to the Havana Times for featuring three of my photos in an article by Martin Guevara Cuba: Giving Up Revolutionary Pleasures. These photos were taken during my first trip to Cuba in May, 2014.

The Prix de la Photographie, Paris (Px3) and is among the most prestigious European photography competitions. I’m honored that my series Holy Week in Guatemala was selected as a Bronze Award Winner in the 2015 Px3 Competition Non-Professional Press Category. A list of winners in all categories is posted on the Px3 website, and images from all gold, silver and bronze winners will be published in the Px3 2015 book to be released in 4 months.
